The Challenge

From Cap de Creus to Andorra

Kilometer zero: Cap de Creus. We start the Transpirenaic at the famous lighthouse and walk through the rocky coastal landscape with lush vegetation of cacti, holm oaks and scrub.

We cross the typical garrigue landscape always with the sea in the background, permeated by the play of colors that inspired painters such as Dalí. We enter the lush forests of oaks and cork oaks and approach the high mountain. Puig de Bassegoda will be our first peak. We spend the night in one of the most beautiful towns in Catalonia, Beget.

We pass nearby the Rocabruna castle and reach the eastern Pyrenees with its ridges and ridges of grass and rock. We walk along the ridge between the Bastiments and the Pic de Noufonts, always at a height of between 2700 and 2900 m to reach the Santuari de Núria.

We will spend the night in the bucolic village of Castellar de n’Hug and at the refuge “Niu de l’Àliga” at the top of Tossa d’Alp (2530 m). We continue with the spectacular crossing of the Serra de Cadi ridge and, the next day, we have to overcome the main ridge of the Pyrenees to reach Andorra.
